Why Choose Steel For Your Home?
While asphalt shingles are a popular choice because of their low cost, they just don’t compare to our quality steel roofs. Steel outperforms in durability, longevity, and superior protection for your home. Your home is the most expensive thing you will buy, and you need a roof that will protect that investment.
When replacing your roof, consider what material will best protect your family. The Canadian Building Code recognizes steel building materials as non-combustible, making them the ideal choice for your home. Steel will provide peace of mind compared to wood, asphalt shingles, and other materials. Steel is the right choice to protect your home and family.
Unlike wood, stone, vinyl, asphalt shingles and cement board siding, steel roofing and cladding panels require very little maintenance. Steel roofing and cladding are resistant to harsh weather conditions, which can damage the exterior of your building. With steel, there is no need to repaint, seal joints, or fix blown-off shingles; all you do is simply wash it off to retain its pleasing aesthetic.
Steel roofing and cladding systems may initially require a greater upfront financial investment compared to other building material. However, a steel roof and cladding system will last 50+ years! In comparison, an asphalt shingle roof would require three replacements in that same 50 year time span. With inflation and annual dumping fees to dispose of the old roof, a homeowner would spend close to four times as much over the same period of time. Steel is a steal of a deal!
WESTMAN STEEL stands by our roofing and cladding systems with the best warranties. We Offer a Limited 40-year warranty that is comprehensive and reliable. Taking it to the next level is our EDCO roofing and siding warranties. They carry a Lifetime Non-Prorated Limited Warranty that includes 100% labour for any problems. There is no better way to go when looking for peace of mind.
One of the primary reasons for using steel roofing and cladding in construction is to dramatically change the overall look of a building, making it more appealing and adding value. Choose from a variety of styles and colours when building your dream home. We are here to help you make your STATEMENT IN STEEL.
Steel roofing and cladding panels are made of recycled materials, making them environmentally friendly and reducing the number of construction materials in landfills. You can recycle them again at the end of their use to reduce your carbon footprint.

Nominal Thickness: Steel sheet manufacturers produce steel sheets to a target or "nominal" thickness. However, variations in the final thickness are unavoidable due to the manufacturing process.
Base Steel Thickness: This is the thickness of the sheet steel material without any coatings.
Coated Thickness: This is the thickness of the steel sheet including any metallic coatings (e.g. zinc or aluminum-zinc alloy) and paint coatings.
Our profiles are differentiated by their Tensile Strength, this has two components: Yield and Ultimate. Yield occurs when the material is no longer able to perform its function (bending or stretching) without breaking. Ultimate is the point at which the material breaks.
The Tensile Strength of a material is the maximum tensile pulling force stress, or maximum force per unit area, that the material can sustain before it breaks under tension.
