Panel Profiles
When choosing your panel profile, you want to think about strength. The number of folds in the metal determines the tensile strength. The tensile strength of a material is the maximum tensile pulling force stress or maximum force per unit area that the material can sustain before it breaks under tension.
The Proper Gauge
The thickness of your metal cladding or roofing panels is essential when starting your project. "Gauge" is the term that refers to the thickness of the steel sheet. Standard gauges for our metal products range from 28 gauge to 22 gauge; the lower the number, the thicker the steel resulting in greater strength.

This topcoat paint system is applied on a flexible primer to improve corrosion resistance, especially at cut edges, scratches, and bends. It also provides protection against chemical pre-treatment. Technical Information
Nominal Thickness: Steel sheet manufacturers produce steel sheets to a target or "nominal" thickness. However, variations in the final thickness are unavoidable due to the manufacturing process.
Base Steel Thickness: This is the thickness of the sheet steel material without any coatings.
Coated Thickness: This is the thickness of the steel sheet including any metallic coatings (e.g. zinc or aluminum-zinc alloy) and paint coatings.
Our profiles are differentiated by their Tensile Strength, this has two components: Yield and Ultimate. Yield occurs when the material is no longer able to perform its function (bending or stretching) without breaking. Ultimate is the point at which the material breaks.
