Field Complaint

This document was created to assist the customer’s Field Complaint representative in assessing the potential causes and validity of a field complaint. The information will also help to determine the need for an additional site visit from various representatives through the supply chain. The areas highlighted in blue below are mandatory to start an investigation. The OBSERVATION fields are the most critical to determining whether the peel/fade or colour complaint is environmental or general weathering sourced.

Where feasible, Baycoat will aim to set an inspection timeline within 30 days of receiving a completed Complaint Form

STEP 1: Fade Complaint – take a clean cotton rag or paper towel and wipe down a small area and then assess as follows

Colour on back of rag or towel is the same as colour of roof
STEP 2: Fade Complaint – after initial assessment, clean surface with a mild soap and water mix or spray area with Krud Kutter™ then assess as per below

STEP 3: Fade Complaint – observe and record any environmental factors that may be contributing to the above problem such as the following;

Peel complaint – observe and record any environmental factors that may be contributing to the problem such as the following;

look for a rake or other tool that may have been used to remove snow
Colour differential complaint – observe and record any factors that may be contributing to the problem such as the following;

new installation of repair panels or additions to existing roof
